This viral cream blush caught my attention. The Rhode Skin brand is the brainchild of Hailey Bieber. When it comes to celebrity makeup brands, I always end up with mixed feelings. Sometimes it is just a hype due to their popularity, but there are times they bring out the best quality because they have access to the best manufacturers.
Pros:
- The texture is soft and blendable.
- Variety of shades. Despite your skin colour, you can definitely find a shade that suit your skin tone.
- You can use this product in many ways. Other than using it as ordinary blush, you can use it as a lip stain, contour stick or eyeshadow.
- It is quite pigmented. You need very little product to get a strong colour.
Cons:
- On my first impression, the packaging is quite basic. It gives a drugstore feel and with the high price tag, this is not forgiven.
- Although the name is called Pocket Blush, you can't fit them in your pocket because it is quite fat and bulky. I wish Rhode make it into a lean size to reduce the excessive plastic and save me some space in my makeup bag.
- For longer lasting effect (especially in humid weather), you need to set it with loose powder.
After using it for a week I quite drawn to the shade Freckle because it gives a beach tan look. It is quite close to Benefit's GALifornia shade. However, in my utmost honesty, the Rhose Skin Pocket Blush is pretty basic. It doesn't give the wow-factor. In terms of the formula, we've seen it in Fenty Beauty Match Stick & Rare Beauty Melting Blush. And in terms of the colour, I'm pretty sure you can find similiar colours from other brands.
