Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Serum Review

I admit that I bought this due to the over-hyped reviews on the product. A lot of comment says that this product gives an immediate glow after just one night of application. The Glow Recipe brand pride itself as a clean beauty brand. The ingredients that are used in their recipe are natural and gentle on the skin. This Watermelon serum (the full name is such mouthful, I thought I’d just call this as Watermelon serum), has been a best seller under the Glow Recipe umbrella.

Brand: Glow Recipe

Product name: Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops

Purchase from: Sephora, Cult Beauty

Price: RM160/40ml

Made in Korea

Pros:

  • Made of natural ingredients and the brand is a clean brand, which means the selection of ingredients are sustainable, vegan and cruelty-free.
  • The product helps in minimising pores and also brighten the skin, hence giving the glow. It’s a 2-in-1 result which makes it really popular.
  • Suitable for any type of skin, age group and also gender
  • The texture is gel based. It provides good hydration for the skin. If you were to use this product as a serum, you can opt to skip moisturizer.

Cons:

  • In my utmost honest opinion, I don’t see much difference the product did to my skin. I’m not sure if my skin belongs to the aging group, so it is not so receptive to the product, but the brand claims it’s suitable for any age group, so it should work.
  • I don’t like the texture of the product that feels a little sticky on the skin. It can be said that if your hair catch the wind then it will stick all over your face if you are applying the product.
  • This serum is not suitable to be applied under makeup. I tried and it stings.

I don’t think that I would purchase this again in the near future because it really doesn’t do much on my skin. Although the price is pretty affordable, I think my money will be well-spent on other brand such as Hada Labo within the price range. And I think the Glow Recipe brand is overly hyped up because the founders are “influencer” within the beauty industry. And I begin to question all the positive reviews on their products.
