Makeup Artist Kiki Sakinah Shares Her Top 5 Beauty Favourites

When I started this blog, I intend to cover all the range of beauty products. However, a lot of skincare and makeups are based on personal preferences and suitability, I’ve started a new topic here to feature Top 5 favourites from my friends. I hope, that way we can get more representation for different beauty needs. This month I’ve got a friend who is a makeup artist to share her favourites. Click below to read more on Kiki’s favourite products for after-work and bedtime skincare.

Great exfoliator for body !!! I looveeee this scrub because it exfoliates, moisturizes and shines skin. Made of walnut, the scrub works as an all-in-one care eliminates the need for additional oil or cream products to add moisture to the skin after cleansing. It's affordable too! RM100 for 4, I got mine from https://www.instagram.com/thepastelsshop/

This cleansing oil has a thicker gel-like consistency. It's easier to use compared to the oil-version as it's not runny so it won’t drip to forearms when applying to the face. Suitable for my acne-prone / sensitive skin. No problem so far. You can get it at any Shu Uemura Counter for about RM129.

This is my holy grail face scrub after cleansing my face from makeup. I used to have acne all over my face and bought their Apricot Scrub Acne Control but I found that the exfoliator is too harsh for my skin and it causes more pimples and redness. So I stopped and I used this one instead. The scrub is so mild that it's kind to skin and my pimples. While it’s not advertised to help on acne, but we all know “green tea” is great to calm the redness on your skin. I’ve been using it since 2017 and my skin is clear :) no blackheads, no small acne and radiant skin! Scrub away from your eyes as you don’t want the micro scrub to hurt your eyes :) Parabens free ! Available everywhere at Watsons for RM 24.50

FOR BELOVED ONE - Advanced Hyaluronic Acid GHK-Cu Moisturizing Serum

I got this from Shiyo Joo’s giveaway last year. Been using it as overnight serum. Their Rare GHK-Cu and copper gluconate accelerate skin repair and restoration while improving moisture retention ability. Its gel-like serum gives my skin that “sticky” feeling but I’m alright with it because I only use it at night. I used this whenever I have breakouts and the next day I could see the pimple shrank and the spots clearing. Can get it from Sephora online

A little goes a long way! Although I have a combination & sensitive skin, I personally prefer a rich cream moisturiser and this one comes from HUXLEY! It’s a cult of Korean Beauty. I just need a little for my whole face and it keeps my skin away from drying especially at night. I woke up with my skin supple and well-moisturised (not oily). Great for wrinkle-free skin! No joking. Been using it for 2 years now ;) Retailing at RM139.
